Well you do have point about the Japanese origin. But the card set was done for the character Voltron which was and is stilled licensed by World Event Productions. I and other artist were hired to illustrate "Voltron" characters.
I would love to be hired to draw the characters from Beast King Go Lion...
or Kikou Kantai Dairugger XV.
For now, I'm happy that I got to draw one of the giant robots from my childhood.
